Meet Haiku, short and sweet, just like her namesake!! Haiku was abandoned, but that will never happen again. As you can tell from her last picture, she was in rough shape when she came to the shelter. However, the good people at the shelter and her foster mom have turned her around. As you can tell her coat is very shiny and smooth now! We are not sure of her breed exactly but we have a couple "good" guesses! She fits the mold and personality of a Field Spaniel--however that is a rare breed of dog. So, our other though is she is a mix between a Basset Hound, Flat Coated Retriever, and Cocker Spaniel. No matter what her breed, she is a sweet and people oriented dog! She is also very affectionate. She is 1 1/2 years old and currently weighs 50lbs. She is house trained and her foster mom is sometimes able to leave her unattended for short periods of time. Haiku gets along with all other dogs--and loves to play with the smaller ones! We have not had her around children. She seems very interested in cats--so it would be best that she be in a home without them. She is described as being happy, affectionate, attention seeking, smart, yet sometimes stubborn! Haiku needs a fenced yard or a dedicated walker who will ensure her safety on a leash. She would enjoy an active home where there are many people coming and going--so she can get in a few extra belly rubs!
