Chocolate is a little standoffish when it comes to meeting new people and it takes her time to warm up to new people and situations. Unlike most chihuahuas she's not much of a lap dog, but she will follow people from room to room in the house watching what you are doing and is content to sleep in a dog bed beside your bed. Chocolate could stand to lose about 8 pounds which her foster home has been working on. She is good with other dogs and cats, but would do best in a home with dogs her size or as an only dog as she tries to boss the large dog in the home around.

Chocolate will sometimes resource guard her food bowl and her bed, but hasn't done anything beyond growling at others for getting near it. She and her sister were in a home where they had only used pee pads. Having arrived during our cold winter weather and snow, they have not been outside to potty train. She has never walked on a leash before so needs a home with a secure fence or a home where she can be allowed to use pee pads in the home. 

Chocolate would be a good addition to almost any home. She has not been around small children so we are unsure of how she will do with them.

SCHS Veterinary Care and Services for Dogs (5 months of age and older): Prior to being placed for adoption, all dogs, at a minimum, receive a veterinary exam, are neutered/spayed, tested for heartworms and Lyme disease, and treated for internal parasites, flea/tick preventative , current on booster(s), bordetella and rabies vaccinations.

SCHS Veterinary Care and Services for Puppies (under 5 months of age): Prior to being placed for adoption, all dogs , at a minimum, receive a veterinary exam, are neutered/spayed , and treated for internal parasites, flea/tick preventative , current on booster(s), and rabies vaccinations. Puppies under 4 months of age will be placed into our foster to adopt program until the above services are met.
