Xena was a neighborhood momma cat who was attacked by another animal and severely injured. She spent months healing from her injuries, and it was clear her left hind leg needed to be amputated to save her life. At that time, she was spayed and microchipped and brought inside as she would no longer be able to survive on her own outside. She has been a faithful companion to many other sick and healing kitties, providing comfort and a nurturing presence. Xena is wary of humans and will keep her distance but usually doesn’t hide from humans. She would do well in a home with other calm animals. With patience and love, it may be possible to socialize her, but she will hiss. Having been attacked and having only 3 legs has left her cautious and very aware of her surroundings, but she is a sweet girl who gets along great with other animals. She is estimated to be a 5.5-year-old brown tabby. She moves with ease and is healthy but is FIV positive.
