Nala is an extremely sweet pug mix that weighs about 30 lbs.

Nala is a lover! She will follow you from room to room and lay at your feet or climb on your lap. Nala loves to get belly rubs and loves being scratched on her back. She seems to love every bed or blanket and is not picky as long as she's got something soft to lay on.

Nala loves toys. She will jump on a toy, get it in her mouth, and then run around the room. It is fun to watch her play. She is also very good at fetch. She will bring the toy back to you and then let you take it from her mouth and then go get it when you throw it again.

It seems as if Nala has had some training in the past because she listens to basic commands. She will sit and stay and if you walk towards the kennel and say "kennel", she walks right in and sits and waits for you. She is very bright and has picked up on our schedule quickly. She does have a little bit of that pug stubbornness in her, just enough to make it interesting.

Nala is very good at walking on the leash. We have taken her into multiple stores and she never pulls on the leash or barks. The only time she will give the leash a little tug is when there is another dog she wants to meet. Nala has let every single person walk up to her and pet her. She sits and waits for them to finish and then keeps moving. When walking on a leash, Nala stays right by your side.

Nala also gets along with other animals. We have yet to meet an animal that she does not like.

Nala is very quiet and does not bark in the kennel. The only time we have heard her bark is when someone knocked on the door and sometimes when playing with the other animals she will playfully bark with excitement.

Nala loves going for car rides. She prefers the window open so her face can be hanging out. She likes to sit on your lap while riding around.

Nala will run if you leave the door open. We did have to chase her down the first couple days she was at our house. But once we realized she was a runner, when going to open the door we look at her and tell her to stay and she will wait until we get the leash.

Nala is not 100% potty trained, but she is very close. She might have an accident the first day at your house until she figures out the doors and your routine. I would say Nala's only character flaw might be that she will go through the trash. You need to have a lid on all your trash cans! It also seems as if Nala was fed from the table at her last home. She is good at leaving you alone while eating, but if you leave food unattended she will snatch it.

Nala has been one of our favorite Foster Friends because she is so sweet, and quiet, and is a joy to have around.

SCHS Veterinary Care and Services for Puppies (under 5 months of age): Prior to being placed for adoption, all dogs , at a minimum, receive a veterinary exam, are neutered/spayed , and treated for internal parasites, flea/tick preventative , current on booster(s), and rabies vaccinations. Puppies under 4 months of age will be placed into our foster to adopt program until the above services are met.
