Hi, my name is Danner. I am around 12 years old and a dachshund mix. My foster family does not know where I have come from. I was picked up on the side of the road. I am mostly blind, am deaf, and have a few missing teeth.

If you can get past those few little quirks, you are going to love me! I am a very smart dog. I have quickly mapped out the layout of my foster families house. I can easily find my food, kennel, bed, and the door. I am a little older, but am very good about going potty outside. I will walk to the back door and wait for you to open the door, but I can only wait so long. If you don't see me waiting I will use the potty where I'm standing, but I always go to the door first.

I enjoy belly rubs and being pet. I will make a great lap dog because I like sitting next to you. I do not bark and get along with all other animals. I enjoy hopping around and trying to play, although my foster family is still trying to figure out how to play with me. Even though I have some missing teeth, I have a great appetite and love to eat snacks and treats.

Even though I have a hard time seeing and might occasionally walk into a wall, I am still able to see shadows and shapes. I can pick people out that are sitting on the couch. And anytime my favorite people approach me, my tail starts to wag and I get very excited. I love to be with people.

I am good on a leash because I don't try to escape or pull too hard. I can be walked on a leash, but you will have to guide me because I am not quite sure where I'm going. I sometimes like to bounce around in the yard, but I would rather be inside in the air conditioning. I very quickly mapped out a route in the backyard to get off of the back porch, use the potty, and then jump back onto the back porch and go to the door and wait to be let in.
