Born to a feral mother, JD is a little over three months old and has been in foster care since he was just a few days old. JD was originally named after Joe Dirt because of his impressive tabby-man mullet, but his name was shortened because it seemed to fit him better. Since then, JD has developed a short, raspy meow that sounds more like a demanding puppy's bark, so his foster family affectionately calls him "J-Dawg."

JD has had some trouble with his left eye swelling and weeping intermittently since he was two weeks old. He's currently being treated for it, but because of his eye bothering him and an early upper respiratory infection, JD became accustomed to sucking on his foster family's fingers for comfort when he was at his most miserable. Despite efforts to curb his enthusiasm for finger suckling, this may be a habit that persists into adulthood. JD will need a patient, understanding person that is willing to continue gently redirecting him to either discontinue his suckling habit or move it to an acceptable blanket. With his newest medication, we're confident his eye condition will be resolved soon. Despite the eye issue, JD is a confident, loving, happy kitten!

JD is very attached to his calico sister Calliope (shown in the second picture and also listed separately). Because they are a bonded pair, they will need to find their forever home together.
